This week has seen a resurfacing of all the issues we thought had been forgotten about. Ukraine has reappeared in our headlines following Vladimir Putin's call for peace on the ongoing crisis. Meanwhile, Iraq and Syria have been rearing their heads again as conflict continues to make international news.
In other news, we're reminded how lucky we are to have freedom of speech in the Western World as Egypt puts three journalists behind bars - BBC's HQ saw Journalists gather in a powerful protest against the seven-year jail sentence given to the trio (see image above).

Congratulations are in order for the University of Salford's business school, who took home the Small Business Charter Award from 10 Downing Street, after they helped 4,700 students find work placements in the micro-business and start-up sector.
Having won the Times University of the Year 2013-14 award, the University of Birmingham shows no signs of stopping there. The University won the Outstanding International Strategy award for its work with institutions in Brazil, broadening the scope of research and encouraging new collaborations and exchanges; a perfect demonstration of effective international relations.

The Water Museum is a new concept being held at Somerset House. People have added to the collection, donating H2O in all forms; droplets from a baby's bath, a sacred Indian River, and a melted snowman are some of many donations. The exhibit is the brainchild of artist Amy Sharrocks, whose live artwork is an attempt to make us seriously consider our relationship with this vital liquid.
